Mr. Nabil Ali Alyousuf

Nabil Ali Alyousuf is President of Nabil Alyousuf & Assoiates. Formally he was Director-General of The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He is also Vice Chairman of Board of Trustees & Executive President of the Dubai School of Government and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Institute for Human Resources Development.
Nabil Alyousuf has numerous achievements in the field of development, focusing on three main pillars: public sector development, human development and community development.
In the field of public sector development, Mr Alyousuf served as Coordinator General of the Dubai Government Excellence Program. This program aims at developing performance in government through granting awards for performance excellence. He developed the program through adopting global standards to enhance the competence as well as performance of establishments and individuals in the Government of Dubai. He introduced the key performance indicators (KPI) system and reinforced accountability in the public sector. Moreover, he developed the restructuring of the Dubai Government, reorganizing it into two types of institutions: those specialized in policy making, and those specialized in service delivery. He also worked on updating the Human Resources Law in the Emirate of Dubai. The new law adopted international norms, and is based on achievement and merit. Mr. Alyousuf also led the team working on developing Dubai Strategy 2015, covering five main sectors: economic development, community development, infrastructure, security and justice, and government excellence.
He established the Dubai School of Government in collaboration with Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. It is the first school of its kind in the region, granting executive academic degrees in public administration and providing customized executive education training on leadership in governance in collaboration with international academic institutions such as the Lee Kuan Yew of Public Policy from Singapore and other equally renowned institutions.
Nabil Alyousuf also worked on the establishment of the Emirates Nationals Development Program. The program aims at training and finding employment for nationals in accordance with market and private sector requirements. He also established the Mohammed bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development, a program that develops future leaders in Dubai in collaboration with international schools and universities such as Cranfield, INSEAD, the London School of Business.
In the field of community development, Nabil Alyousuf is the Vice-Chairman of the Arab Strategic Forum. The Forum focuses on the various aspects of development in the Arab world, and participants include international and regional figures from Corporations and Governments. In addition, he led the establishment of Mohammed Bin Rashid al Maktoum Foundation with ten billion dollar endowment. The Foundation covers four main sectors: knowledge and education, culture, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy. He is the Vice Chairman of the Inaugural Summit on the Global Agenda. The Summit is held in partnership between World Economic Forum and the Government of Dubai. It is a new, unique gathering for 800 of the world’s most influential thinkers -- leaders from academia, business, government and society. Its purpose is to advance solutions to the most critical challenges facing humanity.
Nabil Alyousuf holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arizona, USA, an M.Sc. in Operations Research from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, UK.
He has worked in many reputed organizations such as Dubai Islamic Bank, Emirates Petroleum Production Company (EPPCO) and Dubai Media City. He is currently the Director-General of the Executive Office.
Dr. Hossam Badrawi

Prof. Hossam Badrawi, a prominent physician and a well known politician in Egypt, is a member of the Upper Chamber of Egyptian Parliament, member of the Board of Governance of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Member of the Board of Trustees of the Bibliotheca Alexandria, Board Member of the National Human Right Council of Egypt, and chair the Gynecology & Obstetrics department in Cairo University’s Medical School.
He graduated from Cairo University kasr el aini 1974, with an honors degree. He fulfilled his graduate studies during 1979-1983 in Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, in the use of scanning electron microscopy for the first time in the research of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He also completed post-graduate studies at Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois, in teaching and operative use of open laparoscopy in complicated gynecological surgery. He also completed at Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, post graduate studies in methodologies for development of curricula and study programs in medical education. His academic activities included the publication of more than 120 research papers and participations in 8 text books in the field of obstetrics & gynecology.
Prof. Badrawi received in 2007 an honorary PhD. in science from Sunderland University in the United Kingdom, for outstanding work in higher education reform in the Middle East region.
Dr. Badrawi was an elected member of the Egyptian Parliament and chaired the Committee of Education and Scientific Research for five years (2000 to 2005). He led the education reform initiatives in Egypt during this period and is considered to be the primary sponsor of education reform throughout the country. His initiative in the NDP for the move towards quality assurance and accreditation in education has changed the language and implementation of reform of education in both school and higher education. He produced 29 policy papers from the NDP in education that constitute the core of all current strategies of education nowadays.
Dr. Badrawi also chaired the joint committee of the Parliament for the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) legislation in Egypt and led key initiatives to ensure successful legislation of the law which was fundamental for Egypt’s ability to enter into recent trade agreements with the European Union.
Dr. Badrawi is a member of the board of directors of the NDP and chairs the Business Secretariat.. He is also one eight members comprising the Policy Secretariat and chairs its Education Sub-Committee and co-supervises its Health Sub-Committee. He has played a major role in developing reform policies for the health sector in Egypt.
Ms. Meisa Batayneh

Mrs. Meisa Batayneh is the founder and principal architect at Maisam architects and engineers. She is experienced in multiple facets of design including architecture, planning, urban design and corporate and place branding. She has also acted as a consultant on projects for members of the Royal Family in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. She is a member of the advisory committee for the Ministry of Environment and the Amman Commission and the Architecture and Engineering Business Council. Meisa is also the chairperson of Design Jordan, and the President of Business and Professional Women of Amman (BPW-A), and the Vice President of the Jordan Federation for Business and Professional Women.
Dr. James Crupi

Dr. James A. (Jim) Crupi is President and founder of Strategic Leadership Solutions, Inc. Jim is a recognized authority in international business, future trends, and leadership development and is an internationally popular speaker. His leadership workshops are world renowned. Jim works with executives for the purpose of aligning strategy, enhancing productivity and competitiveness, and training of the management team. Jim has been featured on CNN, Fox Business Network, National Public Radio, and quoted in many publications throughout the world.
Jim has served as a consultant to the Office of the President of the United States and does work for many Fortune 1000 corporations, including Coca Cola, Turner Broadcasting Corporation, AT&T, HP, Bell South, Southwestern Bell, Siemens, Intel, Phelps Dodge, Motorola, and IBM among others. He served in the armed forces as a company commander and instructor at the elite Army Ranger School and serves as a consultant to the Army Science Board.
He received his B.S. degree from North Georgia College, M.S. from the University of Southern California, and Ph.D. from the University of Florida. He has completed advanced work at the London Business School, Oxford University, and the International Management Institute in Geneva and is an Executive in Residence at the KSU Center for Character, Ethics, and Leadership. He is the founder of the Society of International Business Fellows (SIBF). Jim holds board appointments with Docvia, Admiral, Triad Fund of the Dallas Foundation, GNF Foundation & NGCSU. Dr. Crupi resides in Plano, Texas with his wife Faye. Their daughter, Shannon, works in Atlanta, Georgia, and their son, Matthew, works in London.
Dr. B. Dell Felder

B. Dell Felder is an independent educational consultant. She served as co-project director for the RAND Corporation based in Doha, Qatar to establish the Higher Education Institute (HEI) as an operating unit of the Qatar Supreme Education Council. This project established the program design and policy framework for the HEI, researched and qualified institutions worldwide to receive Qatar scholarship students, evaluated and recommended organizations to administer the scholarship programs, and assisted in staff selecting and training. Between 1999 - 2003, Dell was Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Zayed University, United Arab Emirates. The University operates campuses in Abu Dhabi and Dubai and serves over 3,000 students. Zayed University focuses on helping students develop intellectual skills that will support their success in a rapidly changing 21st century environment. Her responsibility was to shape the institution into a “best of class” university that incorporated best practices of western higher education. She has also been Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at California State University Monterey Bay, Senior Vice Chancellor of the University of Houston System in Houston, Texas, and President of Eastern Washington University in Cheney and Spokane, Washington. She holds Ph.D., M.S. and B.S. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Nedal Jayousi

Dr. Nedal Jayousi has professional management, planning and evaluation experience with various local and international GO’s & NGO’s that extends over the past 2 years. He enjoys having multiple competencies as a team leader, trainer, senior adviser in management, and facilitator as well as a project evaluator and consultant for a number of posts and professional competence in English with various managerial and office skills, i.e. writing, editing, translating, together with the ability to use a number of computer programs. He is also a fluent and competent speaker and writer of both English and Arabic, as well as an enthusiastic and imaginative communicator.
Dr. Jayousi manages programs and institutions in public service, private sectors, and a number of local and international bodies. He has experience of leading different groups, along with direct expertise in UN agencies, EC, World Bank, Belgium, Austrian and USAID projects that focus on capacity building, development, strategic planning, programming, identification and monitoring of programs.
Dr. Jayousi is endowed with a number of skills as managing, quality control, assessment, training, lecturing, programming, facilitating and reporting; along with training, writing, briefing, interviewing, researching, managing, public speaking, and lobbying sub-skills.
Dr. Jayousi established the Palestinian House for Professional Solutions (HPS) and led more than 12 programs in Middle East and North Africa areas. He is a senior skilled expert and offered his services in leadership and management to Governmental, NGO and International bodies. He has provided services in Community Development, Capacity Building and Institutional Development.
A holder of a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and double master degrees in management and education along with certificates in 12 training courses in business and managing programs, he enjoys profound experience in training and evaluation of developmental programs, together with an outstanding command of writing skills in both Arabic and English.
Dr. Jayousi has facilitated the development of nine strategic plans through World Bank; and carried out a number of training on pedagogy, strategies of training. He has also participated in a large number of local and international conferences focused on themes of management, leadership, NGO works, project management, community development and conflict transformation.
Mr. Michael Kouly

Michael Kouly is the President of CIGL -- Cambridge Institute for Global Leadership, a Leadership Think-Tank and advisory body that grew out of the studies and research of its founders at Harvard and Princeton universities. The purpose of CIGL is to generate knowledge on the subject of leadership and to actively enhance the leadership capacity of people and organizations worldwide. Michael is also World Bank Fellow, senior international executive, writer, journalist and a scholar who has studied and researched Global Leadership at several universities. He has spoken on Leadership, Authority, Strategy and Policy-Making matters to thousands of top business, government, education and NGO executives in dozens of countries, stretching from the United States to Asia. His practical field knowledge comes from a 16-year international career with Reuters where he worked in 22 countries managing and leading people from 47 nationalities. His last responsibilities were Managing Director of Reuters Middle East Ltd. and executive board member of Reuters Continental Europe, Middle East and Africa.
He studied with the world renowned Prof. Michael Porter of the Harvard Business School the subjects of Strategy and Microeconomics of Competitiveness and with Prof. Ronald Heifetz the subject of Leadership. While at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, Michael also served as a Teaching Fellow on leadership across cultures where he took part in the leadership education of senior business executives, scholars, government officials and diplomats. Michael is a World Bank Fellow, a Robert McNamara Fellow at Princeton University, a Mason Fellow at Harvard University, a Fellow at the Munk Centre For International Studies at University of Toronto and a Research Fellow at Maastricht University.

Mr. John Mills

John C. Mills is a serial entrepreneur. While still a Senior Manager with Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young), he acquired his first commercial enterprise. His business education and the subsequent practice of accountancy as a CPA and management consultancy have served him well. In 1981 he acquired his 5th business and renewed his interest in International Trade and trans-cultural negotiations.
Mills has experience with manufacturing, imports and exports within the Americas, the Pacific Rim and the EU. He has participated in several applied technology startups. He currently designs testing protocols for a variety of research applications and is the inventor of a fuel combustion technology which has demonstrated significant fuel savings and pollutant reductions. This technology is currently employed in South East Asia, and is being demonstrated in the EU. He is Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer of Green Star Group, Ltd. which he founded to provide environmentally beneficial products such as the above described Dragon Fire 888™ technology.
A native of Dallas, Texas, John attended Southern Methodist University and Texas Tech University, graduating in 1972 with a degree (BBA) in Business Administration with High Honors. John is a member of Rotary International’s Water and Sanitation Action Group, the Rotary Club of Dallas (Paul Harris Fellow), The Society of International Business Fellows, the Dallas Committee on Foreign Relations, The Tower Center Forum at Southern Methodist University and has served on the Boards of various civic organizations such as the YMCA and Chambers of Commerce. His philanthropic interests include Dallas Social Venture Partners, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, rural medical clinics in Honduras, the Global Network Foundation and the Boy Scouts. He serves as a facilitator at the Central Eurasian Leadership Academy at Koç University in Istanbul and is a member of the CELA Network. He is the proud father of two adult sons. His recreational interests include sailing, SCUBA diving, fishing, travel and flying. He holds a private pilot’s license with Instrument rating.
Mr. John Haines Roberts

John Haines Roberts (Johnny) is Chairman, CEO and co-founder of Bhate Environmental Associates, Inc., a full service environmental consulting and contracting company with focus in environmental restoration and sustainability. Bhate, which is made up of 14 subsidiary and joint venture companies, is headquartered in Birmingham with seven offices in the US and two offices located overseas in India and South Korea. The company has performed work in 48 states, Puerto Rico and 19 countries.
Johnny is also founder and President of Waste Industries Development Corporation and The Roberts Investment Group, Inc., a founding director of Americus Financial Services, Inc., Chairman and co-founder of National Capital Finance, LLC and serves on the board of MCM Technology, LLC.
Johnny is the Chairman of the Board of the Society of International Business Fellows (SIBF) and sits on the board of Global Network Foundation, SIBF's philanthropic subsidiary. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Birmingham and the Society of American Military Engineers. Johnny serves on the boards of the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce, Birmingham Athletic Club, the Community Foundation of Birmingham CREF, AIDS Alabama, and Creative Montessori School. He is on the board and executive committee for the Boy Scouts of America Greater Alabama Council and recently received the Silver Beaver award. The University of Alabama graduate enjoys golfing, sailing, mountain climbing (Kilimanjaro) and scuba diving. He and his wife, Carolanne Roberts, editor of the "Living Magazines" for Southern Living, have one son, Fletcher, an Eagle Scout and sophomore at the University of Alabama.
Mr. Andrew Summers

Andrew Summers retired in 2006, after twenty years in the investment management industry, with Morgan Grenfell, Morgan Stanley, and latterly Silchester International Investors, a company that he co-founded in 1994, and which now has $40bn under management in its group. Currently Mr Summers is President of his Calabar Foundation that supports education in rural South Africa, and serves on the Boards of a number of small business ventures that he helped to establish. He also serves as Vice Chairman and Finance Trustee of the local Prep School in Hilton Head, South Carolina, where he now lives, and is a Board Member of the Global Network Foundation, the charitable arm of SIBF, which is supporting the MELA initiative.
Mr. Summers grew up in South Africa, and then returned to Edinburgh, Scotland, where he completed his secondary education, then attended St Andrew's University (BSc. Hons), Moray House College of Education, Edinburgh (Diploma in Education) and Heriot Watt University (Diploma in Accounting). Mr. Summers then qualified as a chartered accountant with the Scottish Institute of Accountants, before making a career in finance.
